Violin Effects
The violin sample was opened in computer program called AudioMulch, which is available to download for free (for a 60 day trial) from their web site. It was then made to repeat every few seconds, which created a violin 'loop'.
The sound was then altered by three different effects: stereo delay, reverb and phaser. The effects make the note sound longer and also distorted with lots of small echoes.

Mulching
Mulching and Looping
The mulching process allows you to loop sounds, add effects and combine both live and recorded sounds all in real time, which is a great way to try out combinations of sounds. You can also use it for live performances.
In this mulching session various effects were tried on the violin sample and then it was mixed with different a bass lines and arpeggio patterns.
